"Business today needs to consider the importance of its marketing efforts. No longer does a company or product sell itself purely on its quality or even its service. The major breakthroughs in a company’s success is the quality of it’s marketing.

McDonalds don’t really do anything that special. They sell fast food. Plenty of other companies do that. Apple sells computers and Nike sells sporting gear. Plenty of other companies do that.

It’s their ability to exploit their unique strengths, and market them outstandingly that makes them so successful.

The question then needs to be asked, "What type of business are you in?" Whatever the answer is add "we are also in marketing". Your job does not stop once your product or service has been perfected. In fact it has only just started. You need to perfect your marketing just as you perfect your core business. Just like those big companies do.
