Double Gold Award Win for Destination Marketing!

It was a big week for awards with campaigns that WISDOM was involved in taking out two Golds for Destination Marketing.

MUDGE REGION WINS for "LET'S SKIP TOWN" CAMPAIGN

First up was Mudgee Region who won Gold in the category of Destination Marketing in the 2017 NSW Tourism Awards. The "Let's skip town together" campaign targets the Sydney market to take a break in the beautiful Mudgee region and enjoy one of the many packaged breaks on offer. This was an impressive win by Mudgee Region Tourism and in particular CEO, Cara George, and Leianne Murphy who were integral to the campaign success.  The pair where on hand to accept their award on a gala night held in the new Sydney Exhibition Centre.  "This is a great win for us especially seeings we took out the same award last year. To win it again shows the quality of the region and what we are doing for tourism in Mudgee " said Cara George.

Equally proud was WISDOM's Director Mark Wilson and Scott McIntosh, Account Manager for Mudgee Region.

A BIG WIN FOR SOUTHERN HIGHLANDS' "PIE TIME"

The very next night down the road in Canberra at the National Museum of Australia, Steve Rosa and the team from Destination Southern Highlands, where anxiously awaiting the result of the 2017 Canberra Region Tourism Awards. To their delight it was also a Gold Award for the impressive "Pie Time" campaign also in the Destination Marketing category. "This was a very successful campaign that featured all the wonderful bakers and makers of delicious pies in the Southern Highlands. A well deserved win," said Steve Rosa, Manager of Tourism & Events, Destination Southern Highlands.

WISDOM Account Manager, Melissa Ritchie, who was instrumental in the campaign, also attended on the night and was thrilled with the win along with the Southern Highlands team. "What a great night. I'm so happy with the win. There was a lot of hard work done by the Destination Southern Highlands team and lots of us at WISDOM on this campaign".

WISDOM is very proud to have been involved in these campaigns and to work with our clients on these projects. A worthy point to note regarding these awards is that placings are not be handed out unless they reach a certain standard. For example some categories may only award a Bronze or Highly Commended with no Sliver or Gold. So any award is impressive... let alone Gold. The other point is that both these clients where up against other regions and attractions that have much larger marketing budgets and exposure than these regional Destinations. Again a further credit to what both have been able to achieve.

Next stop Perth for the Australian Awards

These state wins means that Mudgee and Southern Highlands are automatically entered into the National Awards which will be held in Perth in February 2018. Being winners in the same category means they will be going "head to head" which will be very exciting. WISDOM eagerly awaits the result and wishes both clients the best of luck in Perth.
