2024 Graphic Design Trends

Bold Minimalist

Ever heard of less is more? This trend does exactly that, and the opposite! Using heavy text as a feature element and bright bold (and sometimes clashing) colours. We’re a fan of seeing the combination of white space paired with striking graphic elements.

3D Designs

What makes this design trend particularly noteworthy is the advancement of tools like Adobe Illustrator’s “Inflate” feature, introduced just last year. The popularity of a trend largely depends on how many people can master the craft and tool. When used to execute a strong creative concept, 3D elements can help your message engage with the audience with impact.

Doodles

Iconography trends are giving some unique flare as more brands opt to share a more quirky side with hand drawn doodles. This also goes with illustration being more prominent in 2024 designs with brands creating drawn mascots, highlighting the importance of visual storytelling and individuality in branding. Having a custom suite of icons or illustrations for your brand can help to strengthen your identity and express some of your brand personality.

Serifs

This might not seem like a “trend”, but maybe a comeback. Serif fonts have taken centre stage in the graphic design trends of 2023 and continued into 2024. Major brands are still moving away from traditional sans-serif fonts and are looking for a bit more character. Serif fonts can help a brand convey sophistication and trust

Expressive Typography

Similar to the above trend, font creation software like Glyphs and open-source editors such as FontForge make it easy for anyone to create their own font. This allows designers without years of experience in type design to create a font that will undoubtedly result in new, unconservative fonts. Having a font that is crafted especially for your brand helps to give it a unique edge and stand out from the crowd.
